Sastry et.al.[28] used the concept of contraction on a complete partially ordered partial b metric space to study the existence and uniqueness of coupled fixed points for nonlinear contractive mappings controlled by a generalized contractive type condition. In this connection, an open problem is posed. In this paper, we partially answer the open problem in the affirmative. Still the open problem awaits complete answer. Supporting example is also provided.
